Extras Guide

Regardless if you plan a short get away or a long holiday with your family, hiring a car is always a great option giving you the freedom to travel whenever and wherever you want. That is why it is very important to choose the right car hire for you.

To enhance your travelling experience, Firefly has additional options to make sure that you and your family will get to your destination safe and sound. However, you need to remember that any extras should be pre-booked to ensure that Firefly will have them ready and waiting for you at your car hire location. If you have not done so, please do not expect to obtain them directly at the Firefly counter, as we may not always be able to fulfil your request.

Please find below, a list of additional options available in Firefly locations when you hire a car:

Safety restraints for children

Child seats are essential for children at all times, in addition in most places these seats are a legal requirement. If this is not the case, you should still consider your children’s safety and use them. Normally you will be responsible for fitting the chair into your hire car, so make sure that they are installed correctly and always double-check before starting your journey. For more information on safety, check out our Firefly Car Hire Safety Guide.

Booster seats

Older children may still need extra help to be safely buckled in. A booster seat will ensure that your child is ready to travel safely and comfortably in your car hire. Your safety and that of your family, always comes first so make sure that you comply with the local safety regulations when using your car hire.

Super Cover

If you take Super Cover, the excess amount that would otherwise apply to Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection (TP) will be either removed completely or reduced - exclusions apply. This means your liability for damage to or theft of the rental car will be waived totally or partially, leaving you free to enjoy your driving without worrying about the cost of damage to the vehicle.

Should Super Cover not be accepted at time of rent, the non-waivable excess will be blocked as a guarantee on your credit card and de-blocked at return of the vehicle if no damage is detected.

If you choose to rely on your credit card or contract with another third party insurance product for cover, we strongly recommend that you fully read and understand the terms and conditions of any cover provided by your chosen provider before you decline any of our optional services. Without our Super Cover, should you suffer a mishap during your rental period, we will charge you the amount of the excess, regardless of whether you subsequently can reclaim this amount from the provider of the credit card or the third party insurer.

Other options available in some locations include additional drivers, ski and snowboard racks, snow chains, Sat Nav and Portable Internet Hotspot devices.
